EXE Scan is a free command line console (with no graphical interface) whose purpose is explained to perfection by its full name: PE File Anomaly Detection Tool. In other words EXE Scan is an anomaly detector for executable files.

The need to use EXE Scan is given in cases where the EXE files are detected as corrupt, something that often happens when they're compressed. Some compression programs modify the header of the PE (Portable Executable), generating anomalies.

Whatever the reason may be, EXE Scan: File Anomaly Detection Tool is able to detect all possible errors in PEs, including the most common: checksum verification, inadequate size of some elements, etc. In addition, EXE Scan is able to detect the compressor used for the executable file being analyzed.
